Rowlands Castle

A village on the South Downs edge, known for its village green, railway station, and walking routes.

Rowlands Castle is a picturesque village set on the edge of the South Downs National Park, just north of Havant. The village has a beautiful green, a railway station, traditional pubs, and excellent walking access into the Downs. It retains a quiet, village character despite being well-connected by rail.

## The Village Green and Centre

The village green at the heart of Rowlands Castle is one of the finest in Hampshire — a large, open space surrounded by period homes, the village pub, and local businesses. The green hosts community events through the year and gives the village a distinctly traditional feel.

## Walking and the South Downs

Rowlands Castle sits at the edge of the South Downs National Park, making it an excellent base for walking. The Staunton Way long-distance footpath passes through the village, connecting the South Downs to the coast at Langstone Harbour.
